Macdonald Leila Playa Resort

We choose this hotel because of the wide age range within our party, we needed to be close to the beach, with not to much of a hill with a pool and food places nearby. The location of this property is perfect as it is directly on the beach, the resort is built on a gradual slope but it was manageable for our party and has a bus stop right out side. There is a Lidl and a number of other shops across the road, and a number of small cafes and eateries nearby. The harbour is a twenty to thirty minuet walk along the broadwalk towards Marbella. There is a reasonably priced place to hire kayaks, paddleboards and peddalos about 5 to ten min walk away along the broadwalk towards Malaga. The apartments are huge, spotlessly clean, and are well stocked with everything you would need. We had apartment B8 which was directly opposite the pool which suited us with the children. The pool is manned and they are strict with the opening times and closing times of the pool. The restaurant served lovely food and drinks there was happy hour. There was some evening entertainment which was pleasant. The children's club was really lovely and there was a few things to do every day.

We had a sea view from our room and it was so relaxing. The units are older but very functional with everything you need for a short stay. The staff, especially Ruben, were so helpful including after we left when we thought we had left something in the room. He called housekeeping to see if we could find what we thought we had left. The location is great to visit all areas around, but you will definitely need a car. However, there is a nice restaurant on the ocean that is walking distance as well as a very nice boardwalk right outside the back of the property leading directly to the beach. The only negative is it is directly off the highway which is tricky to get on when leaving. Overall an excellent experience and we would highly recommend this place.

The location was wonderful overlooking a wonderful clean beach. It was a lovely 15 minute walk to Cabopino Marina and a 5.6km walk the other way into La Cala which was perfect to watch the sun rise. The grounds are immaculate and there was plenty of room in our 3 bed apartment overlooking the pool & sea. Having a heated pool was brilliant as it meant we could spend lots of time in there and enjoy it. The staff were all incredibly friendly and accommodating and we enjoyed a delicious meal there and a few drinks at happy hour!

The whole atmosphere was great. Lovely pool area. Nice with restaurant near pool. Very nice view. Comfortable and well equipped apartment. Easy to park. Easy drive to the airport.
